  • Bucharest International Technical Fair TIB 2013

Romanian SME partner Wing Computer, together with RTD-performer INOE, jointly promoted the project at the Bucharest International Technical Fair TIB 2013, which took place between 16 and 19th October 2013. Representing the 39th in the series of this successful event organised by ROMEXPO, the event provided an ideal opportunity to promote the project and develop further partnerships for exploitation of the results. This event hosted 348 companies from 18 countries on a 17,500 square metre exhibition area, with the estimated number of specialist visitors exceeding 11,000. The event ran in parallel with the INVENTIKA Inventions and Innovations trade fair which provided further opportunities to promote the HERMES project.

Following the success of their attendance at TIB 2013, Wing Computer intends to further promote the project at the 2014 event, the 40th in the series. which takes place between 15th and 18th of October 2014. This event again runs in parallel with the INVENTIKA Inventions and Innovations 2014 trade fair, providing further opportunities to promote the project results and establish new contacts.

Based on the high level of interest and quality of enquiries, it is proposed to repeat this successful event by promoting the developed prototype system at the subsequent event whichtakes place between 11th and 13th November, 2014.

  • Intelligent Transoprtation Systems (ITS), San Sebastian, Spain

Prometeo Systems promoted the project at the 13th National Sistemas Inteligentes de Transporte (Intelligent Transportation Systems, ITS) event which took place between 18th to 20th June 2013 at the Ibaeta campus of the Centre of Studies and Technical Research (CEIT) and Tecnun (School of Engineering), in San Sebastián, Spain.

The congress was organised by ITS España and the Simulation Area at CEIT, in collaboration with the Cluster of Mobility and Logistics in Euskadi and the Basque Government. Over 400 experts and companies in the Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) sector are estimated to have attended.

This annual event is considered to be the most important meeting in the transportation technologies sector in Spain. The event focused on four themes:

• ITS issues related to traffic in urban areas (managing traffic, access and parking) and interurban areas (managing mobility, road safety and user information systems);

• public transportation (operating assistance systems, payment and ticketing, information systems and ITS and intermodality);

• driving (navigation, cooperative and safety systems); and

• the transportation of goods (managing fleets, loads and freight vehicles).

The opportunity enabled promotion of the HERMES project during a workshop session to ITS España members, encompassing from public administrations and transportation and infrastructure managers to companies that provide services, equipment and systems and research centres that work in the sector. Following the success of this activity, Prometeo is planning to be represented at the 2015 Intelligent Transportation Systems event which takes place in Madrid, Spain between 14th to 16th April, 2015.

This event was used as a platform to present results of the project by Tallinn University of Technology in collaboration with the other Estonian project partners Ardoran andElectronics Design.

BEC 2014 is the 14th in a series of biennial events initiated by TTU to promote interactions between researchers in the field of electronic systems and applications. The conference was organised at Laulasmaa Spa Hotel, which is around 29 km west of Tallinn, the capital of Estonia.

Ago Mõlder, representing the research team of Tallinn University of Technology, presented a paper entitled Extraction of the variable width laser line. This presentation described the novel work in the project of TTU in which effective solutions were developed for precise location of projected laser lines even under demanding conditions of dark road surfaces or operationunder conditions of bright sunshine.
